One of the TMC employees was arrested after many crude bombs were recovered next to his house. Local TMC leaders have admitted that the arrested person is an active member of the party.

While the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) claimed that the clash occurred between two local factions of TMC, the ruling party in the state rejected the allegations, calling it “an apolitical clash that resulted from a personal feud”.

Police have said several unexploded bombs were seized in the area and removed earlier in the day.
