By Ashraf Wani: Two men associated with banned terrorist outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) have been detained under the Public Safety Act for mobilizing youth for terror activities and disrupting the peaceful atmosphere in the Bandipora district of Jammu and kashmir.

One of the men identified as Ishfaq Majeed Dar, a resident of Saderkote Bala in Jammu and Kashmir, was in contact with a terrorist in Pakistan
Occupied Kashmir (PoK). He was instructed by his escorts across the border to mobilize young people in Bandipora to recruit them for the banned terrorist organization LeT.

Dar was also tasked with identifying checkpoints set up by the police and central reserve police in Bandipora and to obtain the coordinates of the nakas to carry out terror attacks in the area.

The other person has been identified as Waseem Ahmad Malik, a resident of Gundpora Rampora village in Bandipore. Sources said Malik was in contact with PoK-based militant Hashir Parray, whose module was recently detained by Bandipora police.

Malik formed new associates in the city of Bandipora and neighboring areas. He lured youth in the city of Bandipora to terrorist sympathizers and tried to set up terrorist sleeping cells in Bandipora district.

The Union Ministry of Interior has banned Lashkar-e-Taiba, which is listed as a terrorist organization in Schedule I of the Prevention of Illegal Activities Act.
