Amazon has announced a new Prime Video Mobile subscription in India.
By Ankita Garg: Amazon has announced a new Prime Video Mobile subscription in India to give people access to content at a lower price. The video streaming platform already has three plans in the country that differ in terms of subscription validity. It has now introduced a cheaper annual subscription for users. With this subscription, you can only access the service on mobile.
The new Amazon Prime Video Mobile plan costs Rs 599 per year. The plan offers content in Standard Definition (SD) quality. People who want to enjoy higher resolution content will have to consider purchasing the existing Amazon Prime Video subscriptions. The plan includes the ability to watch content offline and also gives access to live cricket matches and Amazon originals. Users can also watch Indian and International shows or movies.
The mobile version of Amazon Prime Video was first launched by Bharti Airtel last year and was initially limited to only those who bought prepaid subscriptions of this service. (The plan is now available to everyone now that Amazon has officially launched it.) There are prepaid plans starting at Rs 89 per month that come with an Amazon Prime Video Mobile plan with SD quality.
Other Amazon Prime Video Subscriptions
There is a monthly Amazon Prime Video subscription that costs Rs 179 and a quarterly subscription that costs Rs 459. The annual subscription fee is Rs 1,499. People who want Prime Video for a longer period of time should consider buying the 12-month plan to save some money because if you have the monthly plan for a year, you’ll pay Rs 500 extra.
There is also a screen limit for the existing Prime Video subscriptions. The platform allows three simultaneous streams within the same Amazon account and up to two simultaneous streams of the same content.
