By India Today Web Desk: As Congress Bharat Jodo Yatra entered its 35th day, party leader Rahul Gandhi accused the government of Karnataka of auctioning jobs in the state. He said: “The BJP’s twin engine is eating up the future of the youth”, adding that the BJP government in Karnataka is “selling jobs” while the youth in the state suffers from unemployment.
Karnataka is the first BJP-ruled state to be in the path of the yatra. Previously, the yatra traveled through Kerala and Tamil Nadu. The yatra has been marred with controversy even before it entered the state.
Posters of congressional leaders welcoming them to the state were torn a day before the yatra entered Karnataka.
Meanwhile, congressional officials staged a protest march in Ballari against the municipal corporation after removing the bows installed by party leaders. Congressional legislator aspirant Anjaneyalu had the bows installed before the yatra entered the area.
The yatra resumed on Wednesday from the city of Challekere, stopping for a day in Hirehalli.
