Coimbatore-based startup SuperCluster Pi — which aims to build a cluster of health and wellness-focused direct-to-consumer (D2C) brands — has raised $2 million in a pre-Series A funding round led by Bobby Balachandran from Extero Inc.

The round also saw investment from marquee angel networks like Inflection Point Ventures (IPV), Hyderabad angels, Faad Network and AngelBay. Key social influencers including Bhuvan Bam, Ranveer Allahbadia of Beer Biceps, Praful Billore (MBA Chaiwala) and Arvind Arora (A2) also participated in the round.

SuperCluster Pi is building an ecosystem of health and wellness-focused D2C brands, and the startup plans to use 70% of the new money to make acquisitions and the rest to drive brand growth, the company said in a statement. a statement. It is targeting acquisitions of 6-8 D2C brands over the next 12 months, aiming to create $20 million in gross commercial value (GMV) on an annualized basis, it added.

It plans to use the rest of the money to drive brand growth, expand its team and strengthen its brand marketing activities.

SuperCluster Pi was founded in 2021 by Vishnu Prasath Devarajan. The startup has acquired a total of three D2C brands in the past 6 months, reaching over 30,000 consumers each month.

It currently works with ByNature (superfood and breakfast), Auravedic (ayurvedic skin care) and Odor and Beyond (skin-safe body fragrances and deodorants) in addition to five other own brands in skin care, hair care, sleep, anxiety and plant-based protein supplements.
