BMW X6 50 Jahre M Edition

By Car Today: BMW has launched the X6 50 Jahre M Edition in India, priced at Rs 1.11 crore (ex-showroom). The car is part of BMW celebrating 50 years of BMW M and is the ninth car to receive the special edition.

In terms of cosmetic changes, the BMW X6 50 Jahre M Edition gets a high-gloss black tint for its large kidney grille at the front, the grille also has internal lighting. The special edition car will also receive the iconic M decal in place of the regular BMW logo. Other cosmetic details include 20-inch M alloys finished in orbit grey, while the M Sport brake calipers are finished in gloss red, BMW Laserlight, L-shaped LED taillights and more. Available in two exterior colours, Black Sapphire Metallic and M Carbon Black Metallic.

The BMW X6 50 Jahre M Edition comes with M leather steering wheel, sports seats, M sports brakes, M sports exhaust, M adaptive suspension, M aerodynamics package and more. Convenience features include 4-zone climate control, Harman Kardon surround audio system, temperature-controlled cup holders, wireless smartphone charger, panoramic sunroof, power seats, mood lighting and more.

The BMW X6 is only available in the xDrive40i variant, which means it uses a 3.0-litre six-cylinder turbo petrol engine that produces 340 hp and 450 Nm of torque. This engine is mated to an 8-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission that accelerates this SUV coupe from zero to 100 km/h in just 5.5 seconds and to a top speed of 250 km/h.

In India, the BMW X6 competes with the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupé and the Audi Q8, among others. At Rs 1.11 crore (ex-showroom), the BMW X6 50 Jahre M Edition is Rs 6.5 lakh more expensive than the BMW X6 xDrive40i M Sport.
