By Abhishek Anand: Congress will contest Delhi Municipal Elections (MCD) with slogan ‘My Clean Delhi’. The party said pollution and waste mountains will remain the top issues for upcoming polls.
“The MCD is known as the most corrupt department under the BJP. The AAP has also done nothing about air pollution and garbage heaps for the past eight years. The people of Delhi still remember how it shone during the Congress term. shape of MCD to ‘My Clean Delhi’,” said Chaudhary Anil Kumar, chairman of the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC).
Air quality in Delhi remains in the ‘very poor’ category as stubble burning in Punjab continues unabated. On Tuesday, Delhi and NCR’s average AQI remained above 350, which was in the “very bad” category.
“It has been eight years for the AAP in Delhi and more than ten years for the BJP in the MCD, but instead of making Delhi a world-class city as they claimed, they have made Delhi the most polluted city in the world Congress will change it and make Delhi as clean as it was during Sheila Dikshit’s tenure,” Kumar said.
The state election commission released the dates for the Delhi civil body polls on Friday. According to the schedule announced by the state election commission, the vote will take place in one stage on December 4 and the votes will be counted on December 7.
