Disney+ is working on a ‘Daredevil’ series

daredevil fans who were disappointed when Netflix canceled the hit show after three seasons now have something to look forward to. Disney+ continues with its own series about the blind lawyer turned superhero Matt Murdock. Variety† The streaming service has signed co-writers Matt Corman and Chris Ord to write and produce the series. Corman and Ord as co-showrunners for the NBC military drama the brave oneand the duo also created the spy drama secret affairs†

daredevil is just the latest of a slew of MCU titles that have been revived on Disney+ as shows, starting with last year’s WandaVision† The streamer has since released six other Marvel shows, including: hawk eye† Moon Knight and loki, of to follow this year. Meanwhile, the series of Netflix shows based on Marvel characters left the streaming platform’s library for good †

The daredevil Disney+ show is still in its infancy — Variety notes that Marvel hasn’t formally announced anything yet. Charlie Cox, who starred in the Netflix series, returned this year to his old role in the and Vincent D’Onofrio have been reprized daredevil role of Kingpin in Disney’s hawk eye† Both actors seemed about a Disney+ revival of the series, but there’s no telling if they’ll return to the new series.

In an interview with Marvel News Desk, D’Onofrio shed some light on the sudden cancellation of the Netflix show, which shocked many fans. The actor said the show’s departure in 2018 was likely related to Marvel paving the way for Disney’s emerging streaming service. “You know, at the same time that the #SaveDaredevil group started to take off, we started to figure out the reasons why that happened and so we understood what Marvel was doing because Disney+ came out.”
