News Daily Digital Desk: From dirtiest to cleanest city. Prime Minister Mamata Banerjee has changed Kolkata. Former Congress leader and leader of the Democratic Azad Party, Ghulam Nabi Azad, praised the prime minister after coming to the city. Not only this, the former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir also credited the Chief Minister for improving traffic control and health services in the city during the Trinamool tenure.
Azad (Ghulam Nabi Azad) came to Kolkata on Sunday in an event to mark World Unani Day. Answering questions from reporters there, he said, ‘I congratulate Mamata Banerjee for making Kolkata one of the cleanest cities in the country. I have been coming to Kolkata for almost 45 years. From the time of the Youth Congress. Kolkata used to be one of the dirtiest cities in the country. Today that has changed. All credit goes to Mamata Banerjee, the Kolkata Municipal Council and the councillors.”

Not only here did Azad praise the traffic control system (traffic police) and health services of Kolkata. He said, I think Kolkata’s traffic system is very disciplined. The prime minister and the traffic police are also responsible for this. I also talked to the doctors. And I think Kolkata’s health infrastructure is also the best in the country. Mamata Banerjee deserves credit for that.

This eulogy of Azad is pretty significant, even on a non-political scene. In fact, Azad is currently in a political quagmire. After leaving the Congress, he formed the Kashmir regional Democratic Azad Party (DAP). But it had no special advantages. That’s probably why he’s trying to maintain a good relationship with Mamta.
