Gianna Michelle Thompson is the daughter of the SNL cast member, Kenan Thompson and his ex-wife, Christina Evangeline. Gianna is Kenan’s second child with Evangeline; the former couple got her in late 2010.

Gianna’s dad, Kenan, is the longest-serving cast member on one of America’s longest shows, SNL. From joining the comedy show in the early 2000s to winning an Emmy and getting a plaque on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Kenan certainly has a big profile in the entertainment industry.

Gianna, the second daughter of Kenan and his ex-wife, Christina was born on August 1, 2018.

Speaking once about the birth of his second daughter, Gianna, Kenan said that things really turned upside down after her arrival. The good burger actor also expressed his gratitude that Gianna was born years after his eldest daughter. He said that mainly because apparently it would have been difficult for him to change the diapers of two babies, which Thompson says is the hardest thing to do.

Kenan has also admitted to growing and maturing in ways he never imagined after the birth of his daughters.

Gianna has an older sister, Georgia, who is four years older than her. Kenan once said that he is thankful that Gianna has an older sibling with whom she can run around and learn 24/7. He revealed that Gianna picked up on things while watching her older sister, things like walking up and down the stairs. Kenan also said that after Georgia, Gianna gave him a second chance to see how quickly kids get taller.

Gianna may not have younger siblings as Kenan once said, although he wanted as many kids as a basketball team, he eventually decided he would be fine with two.

Gianna Parents divorced in 2022

Gianna’s parents, the SNL star, Kenan, and now his ex-wife Christina met through a talent manager named Danny Estrada. Then they tied the knot November 11, 2021. The wedding took place at an aquarium in Atlanta, Georgia.

Three years into their marriage, Evangeline and Kenan would welcome their first child, a daughter, Georgia in 2014. Four years later, the now-former couple gave birth to their second daughter, Gianna.

While the news of their divorce did not come until April 2022, some claim, the couple had not lived together since 2020. However, they amicably and successfully co-parented Gianna and her older sister, Georgia. Us Weekly later reported that there was no drama behind Kenan and Christina’s divorce.

Gianna’s mom is now dating her ex-husband’s SNL co-star, Chris Redd. Their relationship went public shortly after Kenan finalized his divorce from Gianna’s mother, Christina. Thompson is also reportedly dating someone, but it’s unclear who his new partner is.

Gianna’s mother, Christina Evangeline, though not as famous as her father, Kenan, is still a successful model and actress. Evangeline who was born on March 24, 1989has notable merit in the 2015 short comedy film, Mini Supreme.

Born in Canada, she is also a philanthropist and founder of Evermore, a charitable organization that helps people cope with grief and loss. Gianna’s mother and Thompson’s former husband additionally oversee the organization’s general volunteer work in the community.

Christina is also a designer and also owns a flower shop in New York called Garden by Eve.

Speaking to Yahoo Life in October 2021, Kenan revealed that both of his daughters, Gianna and her sister Georgia, love to perform and that “they are very entertaining”. Kenan revealed that his big daughter Georgia is said to be a savage and the little one, Gianna, is just fearless.

According to Kenan, little girls often run their own show at home, which they’ve dubbed The Georgia and Gianna Show. Their father, a comedian, says it’s like watching television.

Gianna once started talking to AI too much

Kenan revealed at the end of 2021 that his daughters Georgia and Gianna had once become so used to AI voice system that he had to remove the system from his home. Thompson explained that it was mainly his oldest daughter, Georgia, who had become a good searcher and that she would find the search tab and microphone very quickly.

Eventually, she and her sister, Gianna, started talking to Alexa all day long, eventually causing Kenan to lose Amazon’s virtual assistant technology. Kenan said his girls were already becoming independent.

Besides being an actor and comedian, Kenan has done various voice work in a number of animated projects. When asked how his daughters feel about that, the 44-year-old responded by saying:

Gianna reportedly has a sneaky sense of humor

In an interview with HuffPost in late 2021, Kenan said his daughters had developed a real sense of humor, including his youngest girl, Gianna. While explaining that, Kenan said that while his oldest daughter Georgia is one of the biggest hams he’s ever seen, it was his second daughter Gianna who had a real sly sense of humor. Thomson said hers could have come from her mother, Christina’s side, while Georgia inherited his.

Part of the reason, Kenan said, his kids were funny was because they didn’t know what they were saying in the first place.
