Go to the Video – Advanced options and set them as follows:
- Model Detail: High
- Texture detail: high
- Shader Detail: Low
- Water detail: simple reflections
- Shadow Detail: Low
- Color Correction: Disabled
- Anti-aliasing mode: 2x MSAA
- Filter Mode: Bilinear
- Waiting for vertical sync: Disabled
- Motion Blur: Disabled
- Field of View: 75 (min)
- Multicore Display: Enabled
- High Dynamic Range None
- Use bloom effect if available: No
Gmod FPS Boost & Best Settings – Config (Autoexec.cfg):
Go to Garry’s Mod Folder, then cfg, find the autoexec.cfg and open it with Notepad++. If you can’t find the file, create it (autoexec.cfg) with notepad++

Close the autoexec.cfg file and save:
To load these graphics options during gameplay, open the console and type exec autoexec.cfg.

Depending on the quality of your PC, there are better DirectX options:
- Low-end PCs (low graphics): the best choice is DirectX 70 (cmd – mat_dxlevel 70)
- Standard PCs (average graphics): The best choice is DirectX 80 (cmd – mat_dxlevel 80) or DirectX 81 (cmd – mat_dxlevel 81)
- Best PCs (nice graphics): the best choice is DirectX 90 (cmd – mat_dxlevel 90) or DirectX 95 (cmd – mat_dxlevel 95)

Did you ever get the system requirements (Minimum and Recommended), you must:
Graphics card settings for Garry’s mod:
- Update your graphics card drivers
- Max Performance: go to 3D settings – Adjust Image settings and choose max performance
- Anti-aliasing: Off
- Texture filtering: high performance
Computer settings for Garry’s mod:
- Windows Performance: Properties > Advanced settings > Performance, if you uncheck everything there.
- Disable Core Parking: Win + R at the same time > type msconfig > Boot > Advanced options, once there: max number of processors
- Disable startup programs: Win + R at the same time > type msconfig > Startup tab > once there, uncheck what you don’t need
- Power Options: Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options; once there: high performance
Monitor settings for Garry’s mod:
If all else fails, change your screen resolution depending on the monitor you have:
- 1920×1080 = (1280×720)
- 1600×900 = (1280×720)
- 1366×768 = (800×600)
- 1024×768 = (640×480)
- 640×480 = (320×210)
