Wife – Dana Perino
Dana grew up in Denver and is of Italian descent. She enrolled at Colorado State University-Pueblo and received a degree in mass communication; she also had Spanish and political science courses that would later determine her path in politics. While in college, she worked for the PBS branch on campus and was also part of the school’s forensics team.

After graduation, she continued her studies at the University of Illinois – Springfield, where she obtained a master’s degree in public affairs, and while doing so, continued her work for the media.

She then became press secretary for the head of the House Commerce Subcommittee on Energy and Wealth Dan Schaefer. After he retired, she took a break from politics and moved to the UK to spend more time with her husband.

The Success of Dana Perino
After gaining her government experience, she was hired to become the White House chief of staff just a few months after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. She worked her way up and became deputy press secretary in 2005, eventually becoming acting White House Press Secretary, replacing Tony Snow. Two years later, she was permanently assigned to this position by President George W. Bush and remained with the administration until the end of his term in 2009.
After leaving her government career, she moved to Fox news as a political commentator. Mostly seen as part of the show “The Five,” she was later assigned by President Barack Obama to serve on the Broadcasting Board of Governors, while also teaching part-time at George Washington University.

While she has had a prolific career, she has also had a few controversies in the past. One of the biggest is her belief that climate change doesn’t exist, calling scientists who support it as scammers.
Private life
Peter met Dana on a flight to Chicago – it was Dana who took the first step on the journey, somewhat surprising because he didn’t think anyone 18 years younger than him would approach him. We clicked quickly and within a few months of dating they were married in 1988. Their honeymoon was held in the popular Greek tourist destination of Santorini. His marriage to her brought him a lot of attention in the US, because of his wife’s long-standing role in government.
This was his third marriage – he has children and is even a grandfather. His wife is very close to his children and even supports them at various events. The couple spend most of their time in a house in Manhattan, New York City. They have two pets.
