Early life and education

Kimberley moved with her family to Reno, Nevada when she was four, and they moved a second time, to British Columbia, Canada, when she was twelve. Her mother was a hairdresser and made her interested in modeling and beauty pageants from an early age.

Kimberley attended a local high school, where she was physically active, and after her matriculation, she pursued a career in modeling rather than enrolling in college.

Career as a model and actress

She started modeling at age 17 and worked for John Casablancas Elite Model Management. Her modeling career took off when she was invited to pose for “Playboyby local photographer Ken Honey, and was named Playboy’s Playmate of the Month in January 1988 and Playboy’s Playmate of the Year in 1989. He was a magazine publisher, most popular as the founder and editor-in-chief of “Playboy”, founded in 1953. He died on September 17, 2017 at the age of 91.

Hugh was the first child of Glenn Lucius Hefner, an accountant, and his wife Grace Caroline Hefner (nee Swanson) who worked as a teacher. His parents were from Nebraska and he had a younger brother Keith. Hugh attended Sayre Elementary School and then transferred to Steinmetz High School. Reportedly, his IQ was 152, although his academic performance was generally not exceptional. However, he was the student body president and founded a school newspaper.
