Early life and education

Kimberley moved with her family to Reno, Nevada when she was four, and they moved a second time, to British Columbia, Canada, when she was twelve. Her mother was a hairdresser and made her interested in modeling and beauty pageants from an early age.

Kimberley attended a local high school, where she was physically active, and after her matriculation, she pursued a career in modeling rather than enrolling in college.

Career as a model and actress

She started modeling at age 17 and worked for John Casablancas Elite Model Management. Her modeling career took off when she was invited to pose for “Playboyby local photographer Ken Honey, and was named Playboy’s Playmate of the Month in January 1988 and Playboy’s Playmate of the Year in 1989. That same year, she made her TV series debut in an episode of “Highway to Heaven “, and had a supporting role as a waitress on the hit drama series “Falcon Crest”.

Kimberley has been featured in numerous ‘Playboy’ videos and even had a special edition of the ‘Playboy’ newsstand dedicated to her. A vegetarian and animal rights advocate, Conrad has worked for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) and several animal rescue groups in Los Angeles, California.

Love life and marriage with Hugh Hefner

Kimberley got a lot of media attention in 1989 when she married “Playboy” owner and publisher, Hugh Hefner. She was his second wife and they have two sons together, Marston Glenn Hefner and Cooper Bradford Hefner.

During the first nine years of their marriage, Kimberley transformed the Playboy mansion into a more conservative one, with Hugh reportedly not allowed to hold parties in their house.

However, the two broke up in 1998, but did not formally divorce. Hugh Hefner was quoted about the situation “I’d love to divorce her when we broke up, but she wanted to stay married for our boys.” Kimberley moved into a house next door to the Playboy Mansion, but after living in separate homes for 11 years, she filed for divorce in September 2009 citing “irreconcilable differences” after their youngest child turned 18. The divorce was finalized in March 2010.

Hugh Hefner paid Kimberley $250,000 a year after the divorce, but according to reports, she later filed a lawsuit against him over $5 million that came from the sale of a house they owned together. Hefner reportedly stated that Kimberley cheated on him during their years together, although he (allegedly) remained faithful.

Since the divorce, Kimberley has remained out of the public eye and not much is known about her love life. She seems to live a peaceful life with her children and there are no rumors about her personal affairs.
