Netflix’s Bridgerton is back with a bang! The second season of the periodic romantic drama series followed the unlikely love story between Anthony Bridgerton and Kate Sharma. However, since the third season has already been confirmed, fans are already looking forward to Bridgerton Season 3. So let’s discuss what’s next for the fans.
Bridgerton Season 3: Expect Plot!
The second season of Netflix’s Bridgerton ended on a heartwarming note. Kate and Anthony’s families accepted them with the blessing and the two finally got together. Meanwhile, the Queen intervened to help the families after the entire fiasco involving Anthony and Kate’s younger sister, Edwina, caused them problems. At the same time, Eloise and Penelope’s friendship ended after she discovered that her best friend was actually Lady Whistledown. After that, Penelope started writing her common stories about London’s high society again.
When the series returns for a Bridgerton Season 3 continues after the events of the second season. According to reports, the third season will likely be based on Julia Quinn’s ‘An Offer From a Gentleman’. Season 3 will focus on the love story between Benedict Bridgerton and the illegitimate daughter of the Earl of Penwood, Sophie Beckett. In the books, when Earl died, Sophie’s life became difficult because she lived at the mercy of her stepmother. Then Bridgerton’s second brother came into her life, who rescued her like a knight in shining armor. Just like the first two seasons, we expect the third season to be filled with a lot of drama, emotions and outrageous romance.
Will Lady Danbury take Eloise under her wing?
Eloise had the most frustrating season of all. At first, she was forced to embrace society, even though she was clearly not ready to get married or interested in fending off approaches at proms. She then became acquainted with the women’s suffrage movement and the charming printer’s helper Theo, which she enjoyed very much. However, when Lady Whistledown revealed her secret visits to meet Theo to the world, that was denied. The final nail in her coffin came when she discovered that her best friend had always been Lady Whistledown.
Eloise needs a break after all this. Lady Danbury, her mother’s outspoken best friend, may be able to teach her how to maneuver society on her own terms. The fiery Danbury Girl searches for a new young lady to take under her wing now that Kate and Edwina’s fate is guaranteed. Bridgerton, the most unusual of the bunch, would be ideal.
Who will star in Bridgerton Season 3?
The second season of the historical drama series marked the departure of the previous season’s lead, Regé-Jean Page, as Simon Basset. But it also introduced some new faces. The series features Ruth Gemmell as Lady Violet Bridgerton, Jonathan Bailey as Lord Anthony Bridgerton, Luke Thompson who plays Benedict Bridgerton, Luke Newton as Colin Bridgerton. Also Claudia Jessie as Eloise Bridgerton, Florence Hunt as Hyacinth Bridgerton, Will Tilston as Gregory Bridgerton and Ruby Stokes as Francesca Bridgerton.
Other cast members include Nicola Coughlan as Penelope Featherington, Polly Walker as Lady Portia Featherington, Phoebe Dynevor as Daphne Basset, Simone Ashley and Charithra Chandran as sisters Kate and Edwina Sharma. In Bridgerton Season 3, most of the main protagonists will likely return to their respective roles. See the return of the cast above, with Luke Thompson’s Benedict Bridgerton seemingly taking center stage. Of course, Julie Andrews’ unmistakable voice will almost certainly retell the scandalous proceedings as Lady Whistledown.
Bridgerton Season 3: Release Date!
The second season of Bridgerton premiered on Netflix on March 25, 2022. Fans were not worried about the renewal, however, as it was announced almost a year ago in April 2021 that the series would continue after the second season.
From his official Twitter handle, creator Chris Van Dusen confirmed the extension. He posted: “More #Bridgerton love coming to this room soon! Renewed for Seasons 3 AND 4! I put all my energy into making this show. And the way the world continues to embrace it continues to AMAZING ME. Thank you! @netflix #BridgertonS3 #BridgertonS4 #ComingSoon #Surreal.”
We know that the series has been pre-confirmed for a fourth season. But it may not be, as producer Shonda Rhimes hinted in November 2021 that he hopes to tell the story of all eight Bridgerton siblings. Therefore, the future may have a lot more in store for us than Bridgerton Seasons 3 and 4. Speaking of the third season release date, no details have been provided by showrunners yet. But we can expect it to arrive around early to mid-2023.
