By Press Trust of India: As Indian students detained at home due to the Covid travel ban gradually returned to rejoin their colleges in China after Beijing began issuing visas, the Indian embassy here on Friday asked to register with the mission to ensure timely facilitation of their consular needs .

More than 23,000 Indian students, mostly medical students, are reportedly stuck at home due to Covid visa restrictions.

China began issuing visas for students licensed by their Chinese colleges and universities to return to resume their studies.

But they are finding it difficult to travel to China as both countries have yet to resume flight services. More than 100 students reportedly returned via flight routes in third countries or via Hong Kong.
