India’s industrial production rose 2.4 percent in July, official data released Monday showed.

The IIP had grown by 11.5 percent by July 2021.

According to the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) data released by the National Statistical Office (NSO), manufacturing sector output grew 3.2 percent in July 2022.

Mining production shrank by 3.3 percent, while power generation increased by 2.3 percent over the same period.

By April 2020, industrial production had contracted by 57.3 percent due to a decline in economic activity due to the lockdown put in place to contain the spread of coronavirus infections.
