You no longer need an Xbox when you start playing Drinkbox’s latest game in your living room. The studio has announced that it is a silly but sophisticated RPG Nobody saves the world coming to PS4, PS5, and Switch on April 14. With the release, all players will also get a local co-op mode – Switch owners will even have the option to play locally with a single set of Joy-Cons.
Online co-op won’t really be cross-platform. However, PS4 and PS5 players can record dungeons together.
Nobody saves the world aims to inject some life into RPGs, both through its irreverent style and its shape-shifting mechanics. You can unlock and change over 15 shapes, including ridiculous characters like a bodybuilder or robot. Each form has its own abilities and even quests. The dungeons also change shape. Throw in a soundtrack from Super Brothers: Swords & Sworcery‘s Jim Guthrie and this could be one of those RPGs that you revisit just to experience what you missed the first time around.
