Stranger Things Premiere: Season four of Netflix’s Stranger Things airs next week, but one of the show’s stars already teased the upcoming episodes last Saturday.
Maya Hawke wore a black Christian Dior dress on the red carpet Saturday for the season four premiere of ‘Stranger Things’ in New York City.
The bodice of the corset and the pleated skirt of the dress were embellished with silk embroidery in the style of everything from bees to stars.
According to Hawke, the images pointed to new “Stranger Things” characters, specifically a new type of Demogorgon creature known as demo bats.
Hawke told the outlet, “They’re unlocking the knowledge of what this is all about, and there’s a dark scary element called Vecna who’s like the devil.”
“The clothing says ‘diablo,’ and I have the impression that it contains both the ghost of Vecna and the accompanying monsters.”
The dress was first seen on the Christian Dior catwalks, but Hawke had a modified version made for her.
“The outfit contains a lot of show-related symbolism. The show is fantastic,” she said.
“I wanted to show that by my appearance after working on it for almost three years.
Dior helped recreate a dress from a previous season. With black and red nails I wanted to go all out.”
Her red carpet look also turned out to be a family affair. She told Elle she was getting ready at her mother’s house with her younger sister, who “updated” Hawke’s haircut.
In terms of red carpet preparation, she noted, “My mom gave me some advice on how to stand.”
Netflix released an 8-minute preview of the opening episode of season four to generate anticipation for the show’s May 27 premiere.
Beginning in September 1979, the video takes viewers to Hawkins National Laboratories, where Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) grew up with other brilliant youngsters.
The trailer shows Dr. Brenner (Matthew Modine) going through his morning routine before heading to the labs.
He takes another child to the lab, who has the number 010 tattooed on his wrist.
During the session, 10 is instructed to send Dr. Ellis, but when he does, he discovers that both Six and the Doctor are dead.
dr. Brenner is injured and reels from the surprise attack in the next scene.
Apart from him, there are 10 who appear to be dead – and he’s not the only one. Lights flicker on and off as Brenner wanders through the now-destroyed facility, revealing additional dead ones sprawled across the hallways.
Brenner enters the playroom through two doors, where a bloodied Elf stands in the midst of the chaos.
“How did you get here?” Before the screen goes black, Brenner asks.
