As far as horror movies go, we’ve lived in a golden age in recent years, with everything from terrifying classics like The Conjuring series to post-apocalyptic thrillers like A Quiet Place and its current sequel that ushers in the new millennium.
However, Get Out, directed by the talented Jordan Peele, is without a doubt one of the best horror films to come out in recent memory in my opinion.
Since he made his feature film debut. Peele has worked on some amazing projects, including Us, a film he directed that has incredible elements. His latest horror film, Nope, will hit theaters later in 2022, and he has another one in the works. With the release of a trailer, we now have a little more information about the highly anticipated photo in our possession.
Peele has amassed excellent crews to work on his past two films, and Nope seems to be no exception, especially considering it will serve as a reunion between the filmmaker and his Get Out colleague.
Nope plays Daniel Kaluuya, who previously starred as Chris in the critically acclaimed film Get Out. Get Out was Kaluuya’s breakthrough performance, earning him an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor. His other films include Black Panther, Widows, Queen and Slim and Judas and the Black Messiah, for which he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor in 2015.
No information has been provided about his character’s name or how they are related to the story, which is pretty much the same for the rest of the cast.
Keke Palmer and Steven Yeun round out the top billed trio, according to Nope’s promotional poster. Palmer is an actress and singer whose previous credits include the Ice Age film franchise, Scream Queens (so she’s familiar with the horror genre), Berlin Station, and Hustlers; she will also star in the upcoming 2022 film Lightyear and the 2022 Sundance film Alice, both of which will be released in 2022.
Steven Yeun, known for his role as Glenn in The Walking Dead, was recently nominated for an Academy Award for his portrayal in the film Minari, which will be screened in 2021.
The Prime Video animated series Invincible, the 2021 indie thriller Humans, the Space Jam: A New Legacy and Sorry to Bother You are just a few of his other notable projects. In the past, he worked with Jordan Peele on the film The Twilight Zone (2001).
In addition to Barbie Ferreira (Euphoria, Unpregnant), Michael Wincott (Westworld, 24: Live Another Day), Donna Mills (General Hospital, Knots Landing), Terry Notary (a performance caption expert featured in films like War for the Planet of the Apes and Kong: Skull Island), Jennifer Lafleur (Search Party, Kevin Can F**k Himself), Brandon Perea (The OA) and Sophia Coto (The OA) (This Is Us).
Jordan Peele has been extremely secretive with his films. The stories about getting Out and Us haven’t been released in depth for quite some time, and the writer/director is sticking to the same strategy with Nope. No official plot details are available, although it is widely believed that the story will provide Peele’s perspective on another social issue, as both Get Out and Us did.
The only clues we have on Nope (limited as they are) are the poster and the first teaser trailer, both of which you can see here.

Nope is going to be a ‘Pop Nightmare’ and an ‘Expansive Horror Epic’
While not much is known about the upcoming picture, there were a few minor clues that were let go, claiming that Nope will be a “reimagining” of what is a summer movie, saying it would be a “pop nightmare” and a ” sprawling horror epic’. The main premise follows the individuals living in a small town in California, who are the witnesses of a revelation that will affect their lives forever.
That idea still doesn’t explain what the hell Nope’s main antagonist will be. However, that doesn’t mean we can’t guess what might happen. With most of Jordan Peele’s works, he had a deeper meaning behind the horror, both in Get Out and Us. It wouldn’t be such a shock if Nope appeared in the same way.

No release date
Using a cryptic poster of the movie poster, Peele revealed the title and release date of his third feature film on social media. According to the artwork, Nope won’t hit theaters until July 22, 2022, exactly one year after the film’s initial announcement. Peele offered no additional information, with the caption consisting of a single cloud emoji that resembled the cloud on the poster and no other information.
