It filled me with nostalgia to see Twitter co-founder, former CEO and newly minted “Block Head” Jack Dorsey posting Radiohead’s “Everything In Its Right Place” (linking to niche music service Tidal, which is owned by Block) as if he were early years 2000 instituted an AIM status over Elon Musk, who will soon become a Twitter owner, one of the site’s most prolific users. Musk is also the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, which make cars and rockets, respectively. He also founded a company, Neuralink, to implant devices in people’s heads.
The idea and the service is all that matters to me, and I will do everything I can to protect both. Twitter as a business has always been my only problem and my biggest regret. It has been owned by Wall Street and the advertising model. Taking back Wall Street is the right first step.

Dorsey continued his cryptic tweet with a short thread explaining why he’s so happy he’s posting songs from an album about being human in a world ruled by technology: “Twitter as a company has always been my only problem and my biggest sorry,” he wrote. “It has been owned by Wall Street and the advertising model. Taking Wall Street back is the right first step.” This seems to imply that Dorsey thinks Musk’s ideas about building Twitter’s subscription business are on the right track; on the other, Musk has said the deal “isn’t a way to make money.” to earn”. In any case, think more broadly. “Twitter is the closest thing to global awareness,” Dorsey wrote. “Solving the problem of [Twitter] as a company, however, Elon is the only solution I trust. I trust his mission to expand the light of consciousness.”

Exactly, the light of consciousness. Dorsey supports the acquisition of Musk. The press release noted: that the council’s decision was unanimous. Dorsey’s tweets state that he “chose” Parag Agrawal to succeed him as CEO, perhaps indicating that Agrawal will stay on after Musk takes over. After all, Agrawal is on that board!
“Basically, I don’t believe anyone should own or control Twitter,” Dorsey continues. He believes the service is a public good. But since it’s a business, someone has to own it; this is the tragedy of starting a business i guess. “Thank you both for getting the company out of an impossible situation,” he wrote. “This is the right way…I believe it with all my heart.”
Musk recently tweeted an unflattering photo of Bill Gates with the caption, “Just in case you need to lose a boner fast.”
