Joker is one of the best “superhero” movies of all time. It decided to fully embrace the darkness of its main character, giving us an origin story. The plot fits the idea that monsters are not born, but are made by society and its circumstances over time.
The film won two Oscars, including Best Actor for Joaquin Phoenix, and gave DC and comic books many new ideas. The studio has already announced that a sequel is on the way.
Arthur Fleck is the main character in the first part. It is about a man who is hurt by society and cannot tell what is real and what is in his head. He gets tired of everything that happens to him and decides to do something about it. He turns into a violent clown and kills his first person on live TV, causing chaos in the city.
That explosion is one of the best things that could happen in DC history, and it was the first time we saw what Phoenix could do to a famous villain. At this point, people started talking about the sequel, and now we know some of the details.
What does Joker 2 stand for?
Todd Phillips said on Instagram that joker 2 has already been approved and is currently called Folie à Deux, which according to Geekosity means “An identical or similar mental disorder that affects two or more people, usually close relatives.”
This could mean that Joker is spreading a “disease” that hurts the people of Gotham, as we started to see in the first part, or that another bad guy with mental problems shows up.
On the other hand, the Three Jokers comic shows three different versions of Joker called The Criminal, The Clown, and The Comedian. This could be a reference to a story about Batgirl and Red Hood causing trouble in Gotham.
The actors of Joker 2
Joaquin Phoenix has also been confirmed for the Joker sequel. Phillips showed a photo of the actor reading the script so he can play the criminal clown role again.
Also, Zazie Beetz and Douglas Hodge will likely return as Alfred. Variety also says there’s a chance they’ll show a different version of Harley Quinn than the one played by Margot Robbie (who will become Barbie) and they’ll show Bruce Wayne again, but this time it will be a kid who on the Batman suit and becomes the Joker’s worst enemy.
What happens in Joker 2?
Phillips didn’t say much about the picture, but based on how the last movie ended, we can bet Joker will show us more of Arthur Fleck’s wacky behavior.
He started a series of violent uprisings in and around Gotham. This shows that people are fed up with Arthur, who is no longer a lonely and lost man, but a full-fledged villain just starting to explore his options.
Now we’ll probably see what Arthur does with his newfound power and fame, as well as the Gotham Police’s attempts to stop him before he gets any worse. In the first film, Martha and Thomas Wayne also died. Let’s see how that made his young son feel.

There’s no date for now, but the first Joker 2 photo shared could mean filming is about to begin.
