In terms of his academic career, he attended Glenbrook North High School, where he led the Spartans to an Illinois High School Association Class AA state basketball championship as a junior, a third-place finish as a freshman in 2003, and three Elite Eight appearances in the state play- offs from 2003 to 2006.

Known as the “Jewish Jordan,” the Spartan state championship basketball team is the only one in history to have an all-Jewish starting lineup.

In addition, he later attended Glenbrook North High School. He once scored 21 points in the last 75 seconds of a match in a bid to make a comeback.
