Basavaraj Bommai Announces Tax Exemption for Gandhada Gudi of Puneeth Rajkumar.
By Press Trust of India: Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Friday announced tax exemption for the late Puneeth Rajkumar starrer Kannada docudrama Gandhada Gudi which is based on the protection and conservation of flora and fauna.
This is said of the actor’s last film, who died of cardiac arrest in 2021 at the age of 46.
Bommai, who attended a pre-release event of the film here, said he enjoys attending the event because it gives the impression that “appu,” as Puneeth was popularly known, is alive.
Puneeth Rajkumar was popular as a child artist and starred in several films but his works in the Kannada film industry subsequently ensured that he remained in people’s hearts.
“Appu lives for all of us,” the Chief Minister said in a release from his office.
Film personalities of Kannada and other South Indian artists such as Yash, Ramesh Aravind, Sai Kumar, Siddharth, Suriya and Sarathkumar attended the event.
Puneeth’s brothers Shiva Rajkumar, Raghavendra Rajkumar and other relatives attended the occasion.
Gandhada Gudi is being directed by Amoghavarsha’s PRK Productions, the late actor’s home banner and his wife Ashwini is the producer.
