Voice actress Kana Hanazawa is excited to bring Kubo to life

Voice actress Kana Hanazawa plays Nagisaki Kubo and voice actor Kengo Kawanishi plays Junta Shiraishi.

I enjoyed playing Nagisaki Kubo in the ASMR voice dramas, so I was really happy to hear that the manga would get an anime adaptation. Looking forward to saying the teasing lines that will make Junta Shiraishi squirm and get nervous. I plan to re-read the manga so I can tease her perfectly. When I first read the manga, I thought it would be a cute slice of life anime. As soon as I got the word that I was getting the part to play Nagisaki Kubo, I was excited to find out who would be playing the other roles. The anime is coming soon, but I hope people will read the manga first.

Kana Hanazawa commented on mantan-web.jp regarding the production of the anime.

Kana Hanazawa is not only a voice actress but also a singer. Her debut single Hoshizora Destination was released on April 25, 2012, under Sony Entertainment. Kana is known for her other voice acting roles: Anri Sonohara in Durarara!!, Akane Tsunemori in Psycho-Pass, Rize Kamishiro in Tokyo Ghoul and Mitsuri Kanroji in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.

A social butterfly befriends a wallflower in this sweet novel

The story revolves around the fact that high school student Junta Shiraishi is so quiet and ordinary that his classmates and teachers don’t notice him to the point that it almost looks like he’s a mafia character from a video game, in other words invisible.

Fate has it that the girl sitting next to him in the class is not only very beautiful, but also the one who seems to notice him. Kubo decides to tease Junta by making him do things that make him stand out, then declares that she is his “heroine”. However, if Nagisa Kubo is the heroine of this story, Junta is still just a “crowd”. But will opposites attract?

The Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible manga has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine since October 2019. As of November 2021, the chapters have been collected in seven tankobon volumes.
