Larry Ellison, one of the the world’s richest people and co-founder of the Oracle software company, was involved in a November 2020 call to develop plans to challenge the results of the US presidential election, according to a report by The Washington Post† Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Fox News host Sean Hannity, Donald Trump’s attorney Jay Sekulow and True the Vote attorney James Bopp Jr. also joined the call.
As reported by the After, details of the appeal emerged in a lawsuit linked to a legal battle between True the Vote, a nonprofit that promotes baseless allegations of voter fraud, and Fair Fight, a voting rights organization led by Georgian politician Stacey Abrams. Last year, Fair Fight filed a complaint against True the Vote, who alleged that the group had attacked voters in Georgia.

“Jim was on the phone tonight with Jay Sekulow, Lindsey O. Graham, Sean Hannity and Larry Ellison,” wrote Catherine Engelbrecht, the co-founder of True the Vote, in an email sent by the After† “He explained to us the work we were doing and they asked for a preliminary report as soon as possible, to use to rally their troops internally, so I’m working on that now.” The email has been sent posted on Twitter by means of puck reporter Teddy Schleifer as well.
An anonymous conversation participant also confirmed to the After that Ellison was on the phone, and indicated that Graham might have been the one who invited him. The source reportedly suspected the tech executive was brought in to discuss baseless allegations that the voting machines used during the election were somehow affecting the results. When asked why Graham may have invited Ellison to the interview, Graham spokesman Kevin Bishop told the… After “Probably because Ellison supported Trump.” The edge contacted Oracle with a request for comment, but did not immediately hear back.
Although Ellison stepped down as CEO of Oracle in 2014, he remains the company’s chief technology officer and remains executive chairman. In February 2020, Ellison . held a big fundraiser for Trumpand also worked closely with the former president to gather intelligence on research data associated with unproven antimalarial drug drugs in the treatment of COVID-19. More recently, Ellison Donated $15 Million to a super PAC that supports Senator Tim Scott (R-SC), who has shown interest as Trump’s running mate in the 2024 presidential election.
Ellison is also the largest backer of Elon Musk’s Twitter acquisition, putting $1 billion into the cause. In the past, Ellison has called Musk a “very good friend” and even joined Tesla’s board of directors in 2018.
