Maruti also announced the five winners of Cohort 6.

By Car Today: The country’s largest automaker, Maruti Suzuki India, has opened applications for Cohort 8 of its Mobility and Automobile Innovation Lab (MAIL) program for startups. According to the company, startups that provide solutions in the areas of digital, technology, mobility and automotive space could apply.

MAIL offers extensive mentorship and support to start-ups through various programs. In addition, the team thoroughly validates their solutions, builds from concept phase to pilot phase and extends support together to go to market. The program is also supported by the Maruti Suzuki Innovation Fund, which offers startups the opportunity to secure strategic investments and financing.

As in the past, the shortlisted startups will have the opportunity to work with Maruti Suzuki to turn their innovative ideas into practical and disruptive solutions, while demonstrating their entrepreneurial capabilities. The startups are mentored and guided by industry experts from both the domestic and international startup ecosystem. Selected startups will have the opportunity to conduct a paid proof-of-concept (PoC) with Maruti Suzuki.

The company also announced the five winners – mSense, automaxis and Keploy, AngelTech Logistics and AutoWiz – from Cohort 6. The top three entities – mSense, automaxis and Keploy – will undertake a paid PoC with Maruti.

“In line with the government’s Startup India initiative, Maruti Suzuki is making efforts and contributing to nurturing the start-up culture in the country through its MAIL program. Since the MAIL program started in 2019 we have worked with several startups to collaborate to create innovative business solutions in mobility and automotive,” said Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and CEO of Maruti Suzuki India.

“In the final round (Cohort 6) of this program, the startups have demonstrated interesting and innovative technology solutions in areas such as artificial intelligence and data analytics. We are excited to further explore the power of technology,” he added.
