Messenger gets new shortcuts that let you send silent replies

Meta, Facebook’s parent company, introduces Slack-like shortcuts to Messenger that lets you do things like silently message or quickly summon a GIF while chatting with your friends.

Two of the keyboard shortcuts are available today, March 29, according to Meta: @everyone and /silent. @everyone lets you notify everyone in chat, which can be useful if you want to make sure you get everyone’s attention. (On behalf of your friends’ notifications, please use them responsibly.)
