By Mustafa Shaikho: The recent meeting of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leaders may put an end to rumors that the party may be allying with the BJP for the Mumbai citizen polls. During the meeting, the party would have decided to run on its own in the municipal elections, which are imminent, sources told India Today.

During the meeting, MNS founder Raj Thackeray commented on several issues, including the alliance for upcoming elections, sources said.

After Eknath Shinde’s rebellion, Uddhav Thackeray gains sympathy after freezing the symbol of the Shiv Sena, but it will not help him, Raj Thackeray said at the meeting, according to sources.

According to sources, Raj Thackeray also said that the people are fed up with the current politics in the state and asked the party workers to fight the elections with a positive attitude and ensure that the MNS comes to power.

The MNS chief also instructed the MNS employees to prepare to fight the upcoming elections alone.

“Raj Thackeray has said that the MNS workers will come to power. He will not come to power himself like Uddhav Thackeray,” said MNS leader Sandeep Deshpande.

Over the past few months, the meeting of deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and BJP’s state president Chandrashekhar Bawankule with Raj Thackeray at his residence had sparked speculation that the MNS could forge an alliance with the BJP in the upcoming elections.
