Mother Dairy increases milk price by ₹ 2 per liter on selected varieties

After Amul, another dairy major, Mother Dairy, has increased the milk price for full cream and cow’s milk varieties by 2 per liter with effect from Sunday (16 October).

A Mother Dairy spokesperson said the dairy industry is experiencing a constant rise in raw milk prices, which have risen by about ₹3/kg in the past two months alone, due to a multiple increase in varied input costs. .

“Increased feed prices and low rainfall in some northern states have exacerbated the situation, so we are forced to review prices to support farmers and ensure the availability of quality milk to consumers,” he said.

Earlier, during the day, the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which sells milk and milk products under the brand name ‘Amul’, had announced an increase in rates for whole milk and buffalo milk by ₹2 per liter during the holiday season. The price of whole milk has increased from 61 per liter to 63 per liter.

Both the major dairy brands, Amul and Mother Dairy had increased the milk price by 2 per liter in August to compensate for the increase in purchasing costs.
