Nicki Minaj has been teasing her new Nicki documentary series. The release date of the series has not yet been announced by the Anaconda singer. However, she said on social media that it will be available soon. Minaj went on to say that the documentary will be published on HBO Max and will contain six episodes. Minaj said in a social media caption:
“I am thrilled to have #HBOMAX on board for helping me get my story across in such a sensitive and memorable way. A method my admirers will remember for the rest of their lives. This document is on another level. I can assure you that.”
Minaj’s teaser shows the rapper in New York before she became famous, followed by a glimpse of her success. Minaj can be heard saying in the video:
“There is no manual to be a successful rapper.” You just find out while you’re at it.”
Kenneth Perry, Nicki’s husband, comes on TV and notes that his wife is the strongest she’s ever been in her life.

“I never wanted to belong. Mainstream approached me.”
The video ends with the following message:
“A legend so real can only tell a story so honest.”
Michael John Warren, who previously worked on documentary specials with Nicki Minaj, helmed the series. Warren explained the series in a statement:
“I love how this series not only gives us an inside look at one of the most renowned artists of our generation, but also shows the fearless woman behind the artist, Onika. I feel we can all learn a lot from her outstanding career and personal life. It is a privilege to be entrusted with such an exciting story.”

Nicki Minaj’s debut in a documentary series isn’t her first. In 2010, the singer starred in Nicki Minaj: My Time Now, an MTV documentary special. The concert was notable for Minaj’s viral Pickle Juice diatribe. The program established Minaj as a role model for women trying to get into the entertainment industry.
Nicki Minaj released a sequel to the series called My Time Again in 2015. Minaj reveals in the episode that she hopes to have a family by the time she releases her next documentary. Minaj’s HBO Max documentary series will be released seven years later, now that she is married and has a child.
