Nintendo has announced when the next games show will take place. A Nintendo Direct Mini is planned for June 28 at 9AM ET. However, it most likely won’t feature any news about Mario, Zelda, Pokémon, or any other Nintendo franchise. The company said the stream will focus on third-party titles headed to Switch.
At this point, it’s unclear what to expect from Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase (to give the broadcast its full title). However, it can be a pretty meaty affair as it clocks in at 25 minutes and Nintendo usually runs through announcements during Directs.
This isn’t tied to an Indie World Showcase, so it may be more focused on titles from major publishers and larger studios. One of the more notable third-party games slated for a Switch debut, No Man’s Sky, already has a release date of October 7, so it shouldn’t be given much thought. There is always a chance for more details about Hollow Knight: Silksongwhich is expected to arrive sometime next year.
The Nintendo Direct Mini airs a week after a Direct targeting Xenoblade Chronicles 3, though it’s not the full first-party showcase fans have been waiting and expecting. You can watch Tuesday’s event at Nintendo’s YouTube Channel†
