  • ola is scheduled to launch a new scooter in India on October 22.
  • The company is expected to launch a new electric scooter for less than ₹80,000.
  • The scooter is expected to offer a range of 100 km on a single charge.

Ola, led by Bhavish Aggarwal, has recently relaunched the Ola S1, the company’s second electric scooter in India, with an affordable price tag. The company is now expected to introduce a cheaper electric scooter in the country ahead of Diwali.

Ola launches a new variant of the Ola S1 in India on October 22. The launch has been confirmed by the company’s chief executive officer, Bhavish Aggarwal.

Aggarwal said in his tweet that the October 22 launch will be “one of Ola’s biggest announcements ever”.

According to an
report by Business Today, the new variant of the Ola S1 will be the cheapest offering in the lineup and will cost less than ₹80,000. The company’s current Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro scooters cost ₹99,999 and 1,39,999 respectively.

The new Ola S1 will be one of the most affordable electric two-wheeler vehicles from a major brand.

“We’re planning something BIG for our launch event this month! Will accelerate the #EndICEAge revolution by at least 2 years,” Bhavish Aggarwal said in a tweet.

The new Ola electric scooter is expected to keep most of the features like the Ola S1. However, it is expected to come with a smaller battery that offers a range of 100 km on a single charge.

If Ola’s new electric scooter costs less than ₹80,000, it will go head-to-head with popular two-wheelers such as the Honda Activa 6G and the TVS Jupiter.

In addition, Ola is also expected to roll out an update to Move OS 3 with features such as hill hold control, hyper-charging, key sharing, sounds, calling functionality, and more.

The teaser shared by the company refers to custom speedometers as the video shows an analog dial. It also shows RGB lighting in the headlight – which can also be seen in the upcoming scooter.
