The Xbox Series X is one of the most challenging gaming gadgets since its release in late 2020 while always a small easier to get your hands on than Sony’s PlayStation 5, as getting one requires anything but daily inventory tracking from multiple retailers – otherwise you’d be buying one from price gougers.

But now we can say (fingers crossed) that those days may be behind us. The Xbox Series X is readily available from a few retailers — and it has been for the past few days. Plus, you don’t need paid memberships or expensive bundles to get one. This, coupled with the lower cost and better availability of some desktop GPUs, is great news for gamers looking to upgrade to new hardware.

As for where to buy an Xbox Series X right now, if you’d rather just get the $499 console alone, you can order it online at walmart and Newegg with minimal shipping times until it reaches your home. Fortunately, Walmart doesn’t require a subscription to its paid Walmart Plus membership to access consoles, as often happened during its scheduled console restock events. You may also be able to purchase the Xbox Series X at Target for in-store pickup, but is subject to availability at your local Target brick-and-mortar stores.

Microsoft Xbox Series X

The Xbox Series X is Microsoft’s flagship console and serves as its most powerful (and largest) option. While the Series S is focused on smooth 1440p performance and takes a discless approach, the $499 Series X is focused on fast 4K gameplay.

If you don’t mind buying a bundle, you have even more options to explore for the Xbox Series X. Costco members can buy the Xbox with a spare controller for $549.99† That price is reasonable, especially if you’re already a member and need a second gamepad for local multiplayer.

Antonline also has a number of bundle options available such as these which: a Nyko headset and Halo Infinite for $589.97 and another with same combination, plus a spare controller for $639.96† In the meantime, With Microsoft you can put together your own bundle, choose from a selection of full-price digital games and additional controllers. Of course, it might be more attractive to buy the console yourself and then pick out all your own games and accessories wherever you better discounts elsewhere

Over the past six months, there has been a positive shift in the availability of much-demanded gaming technology. Nintendo’s Switch with OLED is easy to buy, and it’s not uncommon for the Xbox Series S to sell for a whopping $50. While Xbox Series X availability is open, the PlayStation 5 remains the outlier. Sony’s console has been a hit and it remains the console many people want (probably in part because of its scarcity). But for now, that’s the console that will take more effort than just clicking add to cart. The next time we write an article like this, it will probably be about the PS5. But when that will happen is a mystery.
