You can read more about this news in detail here.

The first announcement was made during The Quintessential Quintuplets ∬ Special Event 2021 at Nakano Sun Plaza.
The official website revealed the exact premiere date in Japan with a movie teaser trailer on December 29, 2021.
Japanese media love famitsu report that the film duration will be more than 130 minutes. More importantly, they claim that the movie will be the “final work” or part of the entire anime series!
That’s why the TV series The Quintessential Quintuplets Season 3 seems unlikely at this point.
The only problem is how the ending will be adjusted. The final storylines are quite long, so even with a running time of more than 2 hours, the pace of the story will be rushed.
It has been confirmed that Bibury Animation Studio will return to animate the movie The Quintessential Quintuplets.
The first season was produced by animation studio Tezuka Productions, which released How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord Season 2 (Omega) in 2021. They also co-produced the two-part Dororo anime with MAPPA in 2019, and their next big project is the 51-episode Astro Boy reboot.
The second season switched studios to Bibury Animation Studio, a newer company founded in 2017. They have provided episode-specific animation support for many anime projects, including big names like Attack On Titan: The Final Season, Code Geass, Dr. STONE, Fire Force, My Hero Academia, Sword Art Online, and Vinland Saga, but they are best known for producing the 2020 Azur Lane anime and the 2019 and 2020 Grisaia: Phantom Trigger anime.
Director Satoshi Kuwabara helmed the first season, while the second was directed by Kaori (How To Keep A Mummy). Artist Masato Katsumata (Azur Lane) was both the character designer and the chief animation director.
The returning staff was screenwriter Keiichiro Oochi (My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU, Peach Boy Riverside). Also returning were the music composers Hanae Nakamura and Miki Sakurai.
The Quintessential Quintuplets movie theme song music has not yet been announced.
For the second season, the OP “Gotoubun no Katchi” and ED “Hatsukoi” were performed by all the voice actresses for the Nakano girls.
The second season finale, The Quintessential Quintuplets Season 2 Episode 12, released March 26, 2021. The sequel was announced shortly after, but the format was not announced until April 18, 2021.

This article contains all that is known about the movie sequel The Quintessential Quintuplets (Gotoubun no Hanayome movie/5-toubun no Hanayome movie) and all related news. As such, this article will be updated over time with news, rumors and analysis. In the meantime, let’s get into what is known for sure.
Gotoubun no Hanayome movie release date in spring 2022
As of the latest update, Bibury Animation Studio or any other company involved in the production of the anime has not officially confirmed the exact release date of the movie The Quintessential Quintuplets. However, the production of a movie sequel was announced.
Once the news is officially confirmed, this article will be updated with the relevant information.
The strange thing was that the release date of the movie The Quintessential Quintuplets was originally supposed to be in the early summer of 2022. So either the movie’s release date was pushed back after the initial announcement, or they’re playing fast and loose with the terminology.
Typically, the anime industry considers summer to be the months of July, August, and September, while spring is April, May, and June. November-December and May-July are generally considered the best timing for a tentpole movie to have a shot at a blockbuster premiere, while January and February are considered the “dump months” for bad movies.
The Quintessential Quintuplets Movie USA Release Date Likely Summer 2022
The international release with The Quintessential Quintuplets movie English dub will be planned to maximize opportunities in US theaters and other countries such as UK, Canada and more.
Most likely, the US release date will be set within months of the Japanese theater premiere.
That, of course, presupposes that the film The Quintessential Quintuplets receives international theater performances at all. It’s not that this anime TV series has the popularity of the Demon Slayer movie or the Jujutsu Kaisen movie.
The Quintessential Quintuplets Movie English Dub
FUNimation’s The Quintessential Quintuplets English dub will be streamed on the FUNimation Now platform. A movie dub of The Quintessential Quintuplets has not yet been announced.

The Quintessential Quintuplets Movie That Ends The Whole Story?
The story for the film is based on Negi Haruba’s manga The Quintessential Quintuplets. The end of The Quintessential Quintuplets manga was serialized weekly from August 2017 to April 2020 and was released in Chapter 123 of Volume 14.
The first season ended by adjusting chapters 1 through 31, while the second season dramatically increased the pace by ending with the Kyoto Trip storyline with Sisters’ War Parts 1 and 2.
What is striking is that the second season completely rearranged the story to offer the most optimal conclusion. It accomplished this by combining the first half of Volume 10: Chapter 86 with the bell scene that was skipped in the Scrambled Eggs arc.
But this flashback was combined with a flash-forward to the future wedding, which is quite confusing.
The increased pace was another negative. Even excluding 3 skipped chapters, 51 chapters were reworked, meaning that the second season averaged 4.25 chapters per episode, while the first season averaged 2.66 chapters per episode.
With only 36 chapters to adjust, there are three options. The Quintessential Quintuplets movie could just adapt the nine chapters of the next two storylines, leaving 27 chapters for the anime TV series The Quintessential Quintuplets Season 3 to finish the story with the slower pace of the story.
But given that the movie The Quintessential Quintuplets is advertised with the girls in wedding dresses and the running time is over 130 minutes, it seems more likely that it’s intent is to jump all the way to the end.
Unfortunately, that probably means the film will heavily condense the manga’s story by eliminating or skimming certain storylines. The most obvious target is the School Festival arc, which is 19 chapters long.
Summarizing that storyline, the rest of the plot can fit into the 130 minute movie length which is less than 2 hours. With 36 more chapters to be edited, the pace of adaptation should increase to 6 chapters per “episode” (6 chapters edited every 22 minutes). Needless to say, manga fans probably wouldn’t be very happy with such a result.
The other possibility is that The Quintessential Quintuplets Part 2 movie will complete its final arc in 2022. That’s the best screenplay, but it’s more likely to be a single movie.
