As India and other countries take concrete steps to adopt 5G, the number of vacancies by telcos related to 5G jumped 65 percent last month, from 5,265 vacancies in January to 8,667 in July, a report found on Wednesday.



According to GlobalData’s analysis of 175 companies worldwide, active jobs increased by 46 percent, while the number of jobs increased by 75 percent over the same period.

Nokia has also opened a 5G Industrial Incubation Lab in South Australia and a ‘Graduated Engineer in Technology‘ role.

“Companies are not only looking at 5G investments, they have also expressed an interest in 6G investments and related roles,” said Sriprada.

Between January 2022 and July 2022, more than 130 job openings were posted based on 6G as a title search.
