Rockstar Games confirmed that GTA VIif that’s what the next installment in the series is going to be called was in the works earlier this year when it announced the release date of GTA V and GTA Online for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Now, in a message detailing a big update is coming GTA Online experience, the developer said it is “steadily moving more development resources” to the next Grand Theft Auto title in recent years. The company has done this because it understands the “need to exceed player expectations”, but it has had to make changes to the way it Red Dead Online as result.

The biggest change for red death players is that the developer will no longer roll out major theme updates like in previous years. As GameRant explains, that also means no more specialist roles, missions, and game modes. The company will continue to build on existing modes and add new Telegram missions this year, which are solo activities that players can do to get rewards. But going forward, Rockstar will focus on showcasing previously added roles and missions during Red Dead Onlines monthly events.

Red Dead Online players had complained about the lack of substantial updates in the past and about Rockstar’s tendency to prioritize the Grand Theft Auto franchise over his other games. GTA is a huge one money maker to the developer, so it comes as no surprise that Rockstar has chosen to put in all its efforts to ensure that fans will love GTA VI†
