Meta held its 2022 game showcase this past week and raised the curtain on several new virtual reality games in the works for the Quest 2 headset† Here’s a rundown of the titles we’re most excited about. To celebrate the event, Meta has lowered prices for several VR games that only get discounts a few times a year. So, whether you just bought a Quest 2, or just want to fill your library a little more, view these deals†

I’ve highlighted a few deals that I think are particularly good:

If you’re looking for a compact, yet capable smart speaker, Google’s Nest Audio may be the way to go. Normally $99.99, this model has been reduced in price on the Google Store, as well as Best Buy and Walmart to $79.99.

As someone who got a little tired of reserving counter space for a giant Google Home Max, the upgrade (or downgrade, technically) to the smaller Nest Audio was a smart move for me. It delivers clear sound that can get loud without degrading low or high quality, so I don’t miss that more powerful speaker as much as I thought I would. Best Buy runs a slew of Earth Day promotions aimed at getting you to one of its stores, with your old computer accessories in tow. And there’s good reason to if you have the chance this weekend, as the retailer will give you a 20 percent off coupon for a new Logitech accessory, like the excellent Logitech StreamCam or the G435 wireless gaming headset, when you hand over an old PC or gaming accessory. This in-store offer ends May 6. You can read the details here†

You can also trade in your old modem, router or modem/router combination at Best Buy to get a 15 percent discount on a new model. This is another in-store only offer and unfortunately Google’s networking products are excluded from the deal. However, it should help you get a great price on a product from other recommended brands in the space such as Eero, Orbi, and others. Details are here.

Finally, for Best Buy’s in-store Earth Day promos, you can bring any hard drive or SSD to the store for recycling and receive a coupon that gives you a 10 percent discount off the cost of a Western Digital or SanDisk Professional Hard Drive. Note that these are high capacity disk drives and not fast SSDs. Still, it can be worth it if you need some extra storage space for large files. Here are the details, and here are the eligible models that can be discounted.

Google Nest’s battery-operated Doorbell is getting a big discount, and it’s happening at Amazon and other retailers. Normally $179.99 for this slim model, you can buy one for $149.99 in different colors† This can be a great product for people who have a smart doorbell for the first time. That’s why my colleague Dan Seifert praised his great people and packet-detecting abilities, as well as his longer-than-average battery life.

However, this battery-powered option leaves a few features on the table compared to previous generations. It shoots at a lower resolution and it lacks 24/7 continuous recording. Still, this deal lessens the sting of those flaws. Read our full review.

Google Nest doorbell (battery powered)

The latest-generation Nest battery-powered video doorbell features a high form factor that comes in multiple colors: white, ivy, ash, and linen. The wireless device records a resolution of 960 x 1280 at up to 30 frames per second with HDR and night vision, and can detect people, animals, vehicles and packages.
