By India Today Web Desk: Delving deeper into the investigation into the Shraddha Walkar murder case, Delhi police reached accused Aaftab Ameen Poonawala’s flat in Delhi’s Chhatarpur on Wednesday, where they found bloodstains in the kitchen and surgical gloves by the window.

The police also got permission to conduct a narco analysis test on Aaftab from a court in Delhi. The police claimed that he was not cooperating with the investigation and made attempts to mislead the police.

Aaftab is accused of killing his live-in partner in May, chopping her body into 35 pieces and putting it in a refrigerator. He then scattered the pieces one by one across Delhi’s Mehrauli forest over a period of 16 days.

As the chilling details of Shraddha Walkar’s murder at the hands of her live-in partner unfold, here are the latest developments in the sensational Delhi murder case.

  • Delhi police found bloodstains in the kitchen of suspect Aaftab Ameen Poonawala’s flat in Delhi’s Chhatarpur district on Wednesday. The blood samples have been sent for testing to determine who the blood belongs to. Surgical gloves were also recovered from the flat.

  • A court in Delhi has authorized the police to conduct a narco analysis test on Aaftab Ameen Poonawala in connection with the murder case. As Aaftab did not cooperate with the investigation and made attempts to mislead the police, the Delhi Police moved the Saket court to seek approval for the test. Aaftab has yet to reveal any details about Shraddha’s mobile phone and the weapon he allegedly used to dismember his partner’s body.

  • Delhi police said the bone fragments recovered on Tuesday belong to the lower part of the spinal cord. A forensic team found 10 to 12 pieces of dismembered bones on Tuesday.

On May 18, he transferred Rs 50,000 from her account to his account, and again on two more occasions he transferred the amount from her account to his account.”

  • Aaftab and Shraddha Walkar met on an online dating app. Later, they went to work for the same call center in Mumbai and fell in love. But their families objected to the relationship as they belonged to different religions, prompting the couple to leave the financial capital.

  • On May 15, they moved to a house in Chhattarpur Pahadi, Delhi. Shraddha was killed three days later after an argument broke out between them over the marriage. Shraddha’s father alleged in the FIR that Aaftab had abused his daughter and would often abuse her. A murder case has been filed and Aaftab is currently under police custody. He was arrested Saturday.
