Mission Majnu marks Sidharth Malhotra’s first collaboration with Rashmika Mandanna.
By Roktim Rajpal: Sidharth Malhotra and Rashmika Mandanna are soon to be seen in Mission Majnu, a movie that has caused a lot of buzz among their fans. The latest reports suggest that the movie may not get a theatrical release. The makers have apparently opted for a direct-to-OTT premiere. If all goes according to plan, it will be streaming on Netflix in January 2023. Mission Majnu is a spy thriller directed by Shantanu Bagchi.
MISSION MAJNU RELEASING ON NETFLIX?
Mission Majnu will likely skip the theatrical route and premiere directly on Netflix on January 18, 2023. According to reports, the streaming platform is expected to make an announcement about this in the coming days.
“The makers have decided to release the film on Netflix on January 18. The platform will make an official announcement soon,” a source tells Pinkvilla.
If this is indeed the case, Mission Majnu will be Sidharth’s second film to receive a direct-to-OTT release after Shershah, which premiered on Amazon Prime Video in 2021.
WORK IS IMPORTANT
Sidharth was last seen in Thank God which failed to live up to expectations at the box office. He currently has Rohit Shetty’s web show Indian Police Force and Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha’s Yodha in his kitty. Rashmika, on the other hand, recently made her Bollywood debut with Goodbye. She has Varisu, starring Vijay, and the Sukumar-helmed Pushpa 2 in her cat. Varisu is a family entertainer and marks her first collaboration with Thalapathy. It is set to open in theatres, this Pongal Pushpa 2, on the other hand, has her opposite Allu Arjun.
