News Daily Digital Desk: Trinamool MP Sougata Roy, standing in parliament, made a personal attack in uncharted language. Addressing BJP MP Soumitra Khan, he said, “You are divorced. Woman ran away. Then your thread is cut.” Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla warned him after this remark. He said that as a senior MP, such words do not fit his mouth.
Trinamool MP Sougat Roy gave his speech in the Lok Sabha on Thursday. He gives his opinion on the central budget. Reportedly, BJP MP from Bishnupur Soumitra Khan kept making various remarks against him during that time. So Sougat Roy said, “Apka Bibi Bhag Gaya, Apka Tar Kat Gaya.” There was a temporary tension in parliament. However, later Saugata Roy was warned by the speaker.

Soumitra Khan didn’t open his mouth about this personal attack from Sougat Roy. However, another MP, Sukanta Majumdar, the state president of the BJP, replied: “This comment shows how tasteless Trinamool representatives are. So joking about someone’s personal business.”

Incidentally, the divorce case of Soumitra Khan and Sujata Mandal is ongoing. Political differences, Sujata’s apostasy – their discord in marriage has come up many times. Soumitra informed his wife about the divorce by holding a press conference. Moreover, Sujata responded to the accusation of ‘estrangement’ from her husband and said that the reason for their divorce was that relationship. But the MP from Bishnupur probably did not think that he would be personally attacked in parliament on this issue.
