The tablet is encased in a case to hide its distinctly 21st century origins, but if you look closely you can see the telltale fold in the screen that develops on all foldable devices from Samsung.
See a modern smartphone appear in Star Trek: Picard is funny in its own right, but what makes this cameo even more anachronistic is that by the 25th century of Star Trek, Dr. Jurati has access to technologies such as holographic displays. With part of season two set in 2024, we could see more contemporary gadgets coming into the show.
