‘Starfield’ Extended First Look Has Major ‘No Man’s Sky’ Energy

Here’s our first deep look at it starfieldthe expanded sci-fi RPG coming from Fallout studio Bethesda.

Bethesda producer Todd Howard today introduced the gameplay video at the end of the big Xbox and Bethesda game showcase. It gave off quickly No Man’s Sky vibes, with a person in a spacesuit exploring an alien planet and using a laser gun to search the environment for minerals. However, the fighting came quickly – the explorer encountered a colony of space pirates and the gunfights began.

Howard then showed bits of the story and character customization features, including skill trees and crafting. Players can build outposts on strange planets and man them with workers, and they can build, man and customize starships. Vessel customization appears to be a robust feature of starfieldand interstellar naval combat is definitely a thing.

More than 1,000 planets will be available to explore in starfield† After a delay earlier this year, starfield is expected to hit Xbox consoles and PC in early 2023. It’s one of the most anticipated games in Xbox’s roster, so the delay was a big blow to the publisher. starfield should be better now than ever.
