On-demand delivery platform swiggy on Wednesday introduced a new “Moonlighting” policy for its Staff members allowing them to take on outside projects to earn more money.

Swiggy said this could include out-of-hours or weekend activities that don’t impact their full-time job productivity or have a conflict of interest in any way with the company’s operations.

“Swiggy has always strived to understand the diverse aspirations of its employees and to design its organizational policies to suit their evolving needs,” said Girish Menon, head of Human Resources at Swiggy, in a statement.

“With the Moonlighting policy, our goal is to encourage employees to pursue their passion without restriction through their full-time employment with us. This is another step in our journey to build a ‘people first’ organization of world class,” Menon added.

The policy prescribes guidelines that employees must adhere to when undertaking moonlight projects. Projects that pose a higher risk of conflict of interest or interference with employee duties to Swiggy are subject to an approval process.

The policy is available to all full-time employees of Bundl Technologiesincluding subsidiaries, associatesassociated companies and group companies. Last week, Swiggy announced its permanent work-from-anywhere policy for most of its positions.
