By Aneesha MathurA Delhi court will on Thursday rule on the bail applications of Satyendar Jain, leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), and two others in a money laundering case.

Special Judge Vikas Dhull, who was due to pronounce the order on Wednesday, adjourned the case, saying the order was not yet ready.

Jain had urged the court to release him on bail and said there would be no point in holding him any longer, the PTI news agency reported.

According to PTI, the judge reserved the order after hearing arguments from the defendants, including Vaibhav Jain and Ankush Jain, as well as the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

Jain was arrested in April after the ED seized Rs 4.81 crores worth of real estate owned by private companies under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), in connection with the disproportionate assets and money laundering case.

The indictment alleged that Satyendar Jain, while serving as a minister in the AAP government of Delhi, acquired assets disproportionate to his known sources of income during the period from February 14 to May 31, 2017.

Recently, the court also took note of the prosecution (charge) filed by the ED against Jain, his wife and eight others, including four firms, in connection with the money laundering case.
