This scene also featured several Zoom Call cameos from stars like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Natasha Lyonne. Suddenly there’s a knock on Blanc’s door and the voice outside says, “You’re not in the bath again, are you?” During the Zoom Call, Abdul-Jabbar says that a man named Phillip stated that Blanc had not left the bath in a week.
Hugh Grant plays the role of Phillip, and the latter supposedly lives with Benoit. Blanc is so good he doesn’t need a roommate. So everything leads to only one condition: Phillip is Benoit Blanc’s boyfriend. Blanc & Phillip didn’t appear on screen together, but the fans are eager to see them together in Knives Out 3, which is currently in development.
Is Benoit Blanc gay?
“Yes, he clearly is.” Well, that’s what Glass Onion director Rian Johnson answered by asking “Is Benoit Blanc Gay?” The sequel was screened at the London Film Festival and at the press conference Rian Johnson was asked about Benoit Blanc’s sexuality because of the scene we mentioned above. Rian confirmed that the character is gay. Johnson is also a huge fan of Hugh Grant, as he also said, “And there’s no one in the world I can imagine giving me more pleasure for Benoit Blanc.”
The fact that Benoit Blanc is actually gay makes for a lot of headlines. Now the fans want the director to explore this character’s sexuality even more in the third part of this mysterious movie.
Will Hugh Grant return in Knives Out 3?
Knives Out 3 has already been confirmed to be in development, with Daniel Craig and Rian Johnson reprising their roles. Nothing else has been confirmed yet. Hugh Grant’s character certainly has the potential to become a recurring character. He can return as Phillip, and then Rian Johnson can shed some light on Benoit Blanc and Phillip’s relationship in Knives Out 3.
