Travis Landon Barker was born on November 14, 1975 in Fontana, California, USA. He is the youngest of three, the only male child. Travis, of English, Italian and Irish descent, got his first drum kit when he was just four years old and started taking lessons when he was five.
Before high school, Travis also learned to play the trumpet and piano, and while he was at Fontana High School, he played drums with the jazz ensemble and snare drum in the marching band. After high school, he worked as a garbage collector in Laguna Beach and played with several bands, including Snot and Feeble, where he became acquainted and who he would play with in the ska-punk group the Aquabats. They recorded their debut album “The Fury of the Aquabats!” in 1997, after which the band toured with San Diego-based group Blink-182.
