Another year has passed us by.

Another year full of laughter, tears, confusion and lessons. Yet you are celebrated on Mother’s Day as the most beautiful, strongest and wisest soul on earth.

From the many obstacles you face every day of every year, you gain a little strength and build a year of knowledge that you may not have had before. The phrase “age is just a number” has never been more valid. Your warm heart, beauty, sense of humor and endless love will always be timeless, no matter how many years have passed. This year, along with everyone else, you taught me how to be strong. To be stronger and better than yesterday and the day before yesterday. To be strong enough to know the difference between what I earn and just settle. To be strong enough to let go and move on with what no longer serves me.

As your daughter, I want to thank you for being my mentor and for being a great example to me every day. To give me the tools I need to one day become an incredible mom just like you. To teach me everything school never did. As your best friend I want to thank you for being there for me and being my eyes when I can’t see things clearly. To listen to me for hours and cry on your shoulder when life has no meaning. Because they were brutally honest with me, even when it hurt my feelings. for allowing me be there for you when you have a moment of weakness, as much as it breaks my heart to see.

On Mother’s Day, and on every other day of the year, I want you to know how much I appreciate you. Everything you do, not only for me, but also for our family. You are the glue that holds us together, the foundation for the beautiful life you have built. Even with the weight of the world on your shoulders, I will always appreciate how encouraging and supportive you are in whatever I think of or choose to pursue. Looking back on the many years of stressful schoolwork and heartbreak, I wouldn’t have survived the hard times, the confusing times, or even the happy times without you by my side pushing me in the right direction as always.

We take those mistakes from the past and make lessons from them. Lessons we can apply to our future and fulfill a happier being. Each year is filled with new endeavors that I can’t imagine ever without your intelligence and guidance. There never goes a day when I don’t need you. I am more than grateful every day to have such a wonderful mother and friend like you in my life. A lot can change in a year and I pray every day for a better future. I pray for peace of mind, I pray that our family stays healthy and I pray that good karma comes to people like you who move mountains for everyone. One day it will all come true. When we least expect it, the most amazing things can happen.

No matter what the year brings you, you will still remain the strongest woman I know and that is why I will always admire you beyond words. I will forever admire your immense amount of strength. Something I learn every day and hope to one day have an ounce of the amount you do. Every day you teach me something valuable that I will use in the future without knowing it. I couldn’t be prouder to have such an intelligent, beautiful and quirky woman like my mother.

Especially on Mother’s Day, I hope you realize how loved you are. By your friends, by your family and by everyone you meet with your infectious personality and beauty. The impact you have on people and make them laugh and laugh is something I hope to be able to do one day. On Mother’s Day, I thank you endlessly for everything you do every day of the year. Because I really am Superwoman and my best friend forever.

Another year is ahead of us.

Full of laughter, tears, confusion and lessons. But with you by my side, the year is already better than anyone else’s.

On an infinite number of years ahead with my partner in crime, I love you forever and one day, Mom. Happy mothersday!
