Twitter is down and experiencing a major outage. The problems started with the service around 8:05 a.m. ET, with many users reporting “overcapacity” errors and even errors saying “this page is unavailable”. The issues affect Twitter web, mobile, and even the company’s TweetDeck app.
Down detector has thousands of reports of problems with Twitter, but Twitter’s own status page claims that “all systems are operational”. While the main Twitter.com domain is loaded, it is currently not possible to log in to the service or access tweets.
This is the first major Twitter outage since a series of problems for the social network in February. Twitter went offline twice in a week in February, with users in parts of the US unable to access the service due to a “technical error that prevented timelines from loading and Tweets from being posted.”

These latest problems with the Twitter service come just days after the social network filed a lawsuit against Elon Musk, the world’s richest man. Musk is seeking a $44 billion acquisition deal based on claims that Twitter has failed to comply with requests for information about bot and spam activity on the platform.
