By India Today Web Desk: In a series of tweets focusing on the way forward, Twitter CEO Elon Musk said the social media platform needed to become by far the most accurate source of information about the world.
“Twitter must become by far the most accurate source of information about the world. That’s our mission,” he wrote, sharing his vision for the company.
In a new warning, the SpaceX founder said any Twitter handle that engages in impersonation without clearly specifying “parody” will be permanently suspended.

“Going forward, any Twitter handle that engages in impersonation without clearly specifying “parody” will be permanently suspended,” he wrote.
The business magnate said his commitment to free speech even extended to not banning the account tracking his plane, even though it posed a direct personal security risk.

He said widespread verification will democratize journalism and strengthen the voice of the people.
He inquired about Twitter’s new no-warning policy, saying: “We previously issued a warning before the suspension, but now that we are rolling out widespread verification, there will be no warning. This is clearly stated as a condition of signing up to Twitter Blue.”
Musk also said any name change will cause temporary loss of verified tick.
Twitter updated its app on Apple’s App Store on Saturday to charge $8 for coveted blue checks, in Elon Musk’s first major overhaul of the social media platform.

Tesla Inc boss Musk, who will also serve as Twitter’s CEO, said last month that Twitter will form a content moderation board with “very divergent views”.
“There will be no major content decisions or account recovery before that council meets,” he added.
