By Rohit Kumar Singh: Ten-year-old Lakshmi was one of eight victims who died in the tragic road accident that occurred in Nayagaon below Desri Police Station in Vaishali district of Bihar.
Lakshmi’s father, Mitthu Rai, is inconsolable. The atmosphere of joy and revelry has turned into a gloomy one. Lakshmi was on her way to an event for her cousin’s upcoming wedding when she was killed in the accident.
Her father Mithu Rai told India Today that his cousin Ranjan would get married on November 25. In the joint family, hectic preparations were made for the wedding day. But instead of celebrating a wedding, the family is now mourning the lost little one and preparing for a funeral.
“The wedding procession was supposed to leave on November 25, but suddenly this incident happened. My daughter was on her way to the religious gathering when the truck came and killed her,” said Mitthu Rai.
Lakshmi had witnessed the religious procession just 100 meters away from her house in Nayagaon on Hajipur-Mahnar road when that ill-fated truck ran into several people. Eight people were killed on the spot, including Lakshmi.
Of the eight people who died in the horrific traffic accident, six were underage girls between the ages of six and twelve.
